World-Renowned Crews: Our crews have taken the hip hop world by storm. Finalists of LA’s Hip Hop International and World Dance Championship, you won’t find a more exciting recital anywhere!
Hip Hop Tots: It is never too early to start grooving on the big stage! Our mini hip hop dancers are a sight to be seen!
Dance Parents: One of our show highlights is the annual parent dance. Every year features a different concept and it’s so fun!

FAQs

Funk Lab’s 2024 recital, titled “Halftime Show” takes place the weekend of June 8-9, 2024. Every performer will receive an exact show assignment in April 2024. This will include the day and time of the dancer’s performance. Each class only performs once and this could be on June 8 or 9.

We reserved the Victoria Theatre again this season. We are awaiting our contract.

Recital is not required. While 99% of our dancers do perform at recital, we have students who are unable to attend due to vacations, performance anxiety or other commitments. These dancers can still enjoy class with us!

There is a fee of $50 per family. This fee includes a souvenir program, drawstring bag and 4 tickets to our show. Additional tickets can be purchased the second week in May, 2024.
Recital fee is due February 2024.

Funk Lab begins measuring students for costumes mid-November.
This season, parents may opt to measure their own dancers or one of our trained staff can take the measurement.
Costume fees of $50 are due on November 1.
Costumes arrive and are fitted in February and March.

Rather than opting for traditional dance studio catalog options, we curate our costumes from actual street wear that embodies the essence of hip hop culture. Our costumes are carefully chosen to reflect the style, attitude, and individuality of hip hop, allowing our dancers to express themselves while also ensuring practicality and versatility, as they can be reworn beyond the stage.
